Dr. Goodman is passionate about community engagement and dedicates time to developing sustainable and collaborative partnerships with communities who are facing systemic injustice. Since 2014, she and her colleagues have been working in partnership with Amigas de la Comunidad (Friends of the Community), a group of Central American immigrant women working to address challenges in their community and improve the lives of families and children.
Dr. Goodman has given over 80 presentations to local, national, and international audiences. She enjoys providing consultation and professional development to schools and agencies on issues related to trauma, stress, and trauma-informed care; compassion fatigue and burnout; and community and self care.
