At the core of my life both personally and professionally is a sense that we grow, survive, and thrive through our connections with ourselves and others.
Having dealt with my own challenges and also benefited from my own therapy, I believe we can all benefit from counseling, and that we all have the ability to grow and heal.
I also believe that culture, context, and the systems in which we live influence us tremendously. Understanding these aspects of our lives -- both as strengths and as challenges -- is central to the process of counseling. I practice from a place of cultural humility, a commitment to social justice, and a sense of curiosity and openness.
I love to learn with and from my clients. I am passionate about integrating social justice and advocacy into the work I do as a counselor, and in my role as a counselor professor training the next generation of counselors.
I help clients navigate the impact of stress or trauma on their lives and relationships, recognizing the significance of culture and context in shaping their strengths and challenges. Together, we blend various aspects of your experiences and identities to help you grow and flourish, even amidst challenges. I prioritize honesty, connection, trust, compassion, and curiosity to support your journey. Read more here.
